Who is Aliko Dangote?
He is the richest man in Africa and the richest Blackman in the world. He was born in Kano State Nigeria on 10th April 1957 to a wealthy Hausa Muslim family. His grandfather Sanusi Dantata, was a very wealthy business man who became the custodian of Aliko Dangote after the demise of his father.
How he made his money?
Dangote began his own entrepreneurial journey when he was in primary school by buying cartons of candies and selling them in school.  When he was 21 years, he graduated from Al-Azhar University and took a loan of three thousand dollars ($3000) from his uncle which he used to import rice and sugar from Thailand and Brazil and sold them in smaller quantities. This was a very profitable business venture for him and he quickly paid his Uncle the loan. Dangote realized he could make a lot of money by building his own factory in Nigeria to increase productivity and income and gradually built the empire we now know of as the Dangote Group. 
Dangote Group
The dangote group was started in 1977 as a small business and is now a multibillion dollar with operations in Ghana, Togo and Benin including Nigeria. The Dangote group has diversified into cement manufacturing, food processing, cargo transportation, oil and gas and more recently telecommunication.  The Dangote Group has evolved from being a trading company to be the largest industrial group in Nigeria including Dangote Sugar Refinery, Dangote Cement, and Dangote Flour. The group has dominated the sugar market in Nigeria as it provides over 75% of sugar to the entire Nigerain population and the soft drinks companies and breweries. Dangote Group owns salt factories and flour mills and is a major importer of rice, fish and fertilizer. They export cotton, cashew nuts, cocoa, sesame seeds, and ginger to several around the world. It also has major investments in real estate, banking, transport and textiles. The company employs well over 11,000 people and is the largest industrial empire in West Africa.
Net Worth
As of March 2019, he was estimated to have a net worth of US$10.6 billion. About 80% of his wealth is comes from Dangote cement.
Though Dangote is very private about his family, it is said he is married to his fourth wife after his first three marriages ended in divorce and has a total of 15 children from all wives however according to Forbes magazine; Aliko Dangote has 3 children and lives in Lagos Nigeria.
