People fail because they never really LEARNT how to succeed in life. Success is a science for life is predictable. Understanding the laws and principles of life enables one determine the quality and quantity of his success and achievements here on earth.

A mentee asked me last week Monday 'Why do people fail' and I felt its better I make this article to help as many that have similar question. The truth you must take note of is that, "There are no failures in life. There are only those who either do not know the laws and principles governing the success they seek or they know it but are unwilling to pay the price in discipline that success or greatness demands."

Yes, life is practical, not mystical and there are no favorites in God's book, He literally died for all, black and white inclusive. So if there is someone getting the level of success you aspire for and you're barely going by, it boils down to one or two of the facts mentioned above. God is fair.
The reason you are where you are right now my friend is not the fault of God or the result of your village people, its your ignorance and inaction that has kept you bound and stranded in life. It is the result of what you don't know or what you do know but have refused to put into practice.

So, when you get fed up of staying on the floor and are now serious about taking charge of your life, you'd be intentional about bridging the gap in your knowledge and increasing your discipline/execution level to speedily attain the success you seek this year amplifying your chance at a successful and a great life determining your very own miracle. You are the cause of your own misery, it's difficult to accept but once you do you realise the power you have in you right now to determine how the story will end for you.

This is not the end for you, but the first thing you need to do is to subject yourself to acquiring the relevant and much needed information you need to make a giant leap in the direction of the success you seek.

Ask yourself relevant questions like,
What areas of life do I want to truly succeed in?
What do I really know about these area other than I want to succeed in them?
What are the principles guiding success in these areas?
Who do I know right now who have attained the level of success in any of these areas I desire?
How do I connect with him or her to learn the very same principles they have so mastered and adopted to become an authority in such areas of life?
Remember success leaves clues, and the man at the top of the mountain didn't fall there, they are certainly doing something you are not doing, if not you'd be there too and reaching out to them is a proof of your teachability index and willingness to learn

It has been said that if you want to hide a thing from a black man, put it inside a book, the sad thing about this reputation is that it is true. Check your life right now, how much do you read? If you were discipline in acquiring the relevant information in your field consistently for one year where would your life and career be? This is a call to greatness, it's time you wake up, mediocrity is not appealing.

The sad reality is that many of us have never read a book or studied an article outside our chosen profession or apart from our Bible since after our university days. How then do we expect to advance through life? We call ourselves the leaders of tomorrow forgetting that leaders are readers and we blame our government for their abuse of power when we are not better equipped to take over. It's time to wake up my friend, you can make a difference and knowledge is a great divider, it will set you apart from the vast majority basking away in their ignorance.

Mark Twain — 'The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.'

It sure seems that people are not aware of the gap between where they are now and where they could be in life, and relatively few even seem to care or are actively involve in the process, activities and hobbies that would help them in bridging this gap. Fewer still are reading the relevant books and other informational materials that would help them speed track this process and many wonder why they end up poor and mediocre in life. Be among the fewer still, this is a clarion call.
Let's do the math,

Ask yourself, how many books did you read last year?
Contrast that with the number of movies you watched for the whole of last year, which is more?
You see the reason you seem to be stuck in life? It's time to wake up my friend, nothing happens in life by accident, your success too is the result of deliberate and systemmatic actions. This is a key difference between the rich and the poor.

'Rich people have small TVs and big libraries, and poor people have small libraries and big TVs.' - Zig Ziglar

The nonchalancy we have in taking charge of the process of self educating ourselves has ultimately led many to a life of regret and in them settling for a life less than the one they are capable of having. Life will treat you by how diligently you observe her laws. Be committed to self education (more on this later)!

Mediocrity in life is a choice that the indisciplined and/or uninformed people make, although nobody is born wise one must try very very hard to stay ignorant in this our day and age with the constant influx of information we are being bombarded with from all direction, and the shocking news is some actually do.

Nobody admires average, mediocrity is not attractive, it is annoying, the onus operandi is on you to understand the gap between where you are right now and where you intend to be and actively engage the process that would give you the result and life you seek. The greatest lie you can tell yourself is that you don't have time for self education. (if you need help, I can help you on this but I only work with determined individuals).

Becoming a better person is a conscious choice we each must make for ourselves and it starts with exposing yourself to the relevant information that would give you the kind of life you desire. So my friend, aside Facebook, what other books are you reading this year?
