THE YCEO: Ghana, Côte D ‘ Ivoire, and Nigeria: 2000 Young agricultural Entrepreneurs supported by Nestlé Central & West Africa.

Ghana, Côte D ‘ Ivoire, and Nigeria: 2000 Young agricultural Entrepreneurs 
Nestlé Central & West Africa (CWA) and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), launched on June 7th, an initiative, agricultural development programme to promote the agricultural entrepreneurship of young Africans.
Named “Youth Agripreneurship Development Program”, this 2-Year-long project is expected to benefit from 2 young agricultural entrepreneurs in côte d ‘ Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria. It will target the young people engaged in the production of corn, soya and cassava and on the other hand, those growing cocoa or coffee in association with food crops.
The project interventions will include training in production improvement techniques, effective post-Harvest management practices as well as the supply of mechanization and harvest insurance services.
As part of this program, Nestlé should provide, among other things, technical support to modernize the corn value chain and is committed to buying nearly 4 tons of corn and cassava from young farmers who will deliver Good quality products.
According to the Executive Director of Nestlé Ghana, Philomena Tan, the program should complete their priority and enhance efforts to promote strong partnerships along the corn value chain, which will contribute to the improvement of food security and agricultural income.
In Central and Western Africa, Nestlé & West Africa(CWA) covers 25 countries. With more than 5 people in both regions, the company has 9 FACTORIES.
