YOUNG CEO ENTREPRENEUR CLEMENT SENYO ASEMNYRA

Y'CEO ENTREPRENEUR  Caught up with Clement Senyo Asemnyra Ceo of Dreams College Of Creative Arts And Clement Asemnyra Clothing Brand to share with us his start up stories

and this is what he has share with us.....

"At the beginning, my concept of the training was to just help people who want to
make their own clothing. I later realised people needed more than that so I started running a school.
What Dreams Fashion school does differently is officially starting series of intensive and well equipped boot camps which runs for 3 months . A first of it's kind in the country, where students eat, sleep and go to the studio to learn. Our trainings are geared towards career focus. We enable the individual to acquire and graps practical skills.
We train our students to be very competent in the industry. We do 80% practicals and 20% theory.

I started Dreams Fashion school during my first degree. I studied Bsc.Home Economics.
I used to teach my friends after school. My room became more or less an extension of the fashion studio. They preferred and understood the way I taught so they encouraged me to start a school. They were my key motivators.

I initially started in a hostel in University of Education, Winneba in 2015 with the little money I saved from the payment of tuition fees. I didn't get funds from anyone.
I started by posting posters around and informing people and my friends who were already interested in my idea which made it easier to get them on board. I used the money I got to buy furniture and take care of utilities and the renting space.

My biggest challenge was at a point where I almost gave up on myself mainly because of pressure . I've currently secured a place in Accra and will be moving in soon. And financing for accreditation is also a challenge. But if you're strong ,focused and determined, you're surely going to overcome them.

What I wished I knew before becoming an entrepreneur is business management. But it is not too late and doesn't stop me from learning. I'm currently taking an online business management course.

Best advice ever received from someone is to never give up. Just keep on pushing and live each day at a time.
I got people who discouraged me and said I couldn't start a school on my own, but look how far I've come now.

My best quotes are from Eleanor Roosevelt which says the future belongs to those who create it . And from Abraham Lincoln who also says the best way to create the future is to imagine it.

My means of advertisement is mainly social media. I believe social media works magic. Most of the students I get are through social media. I post most of the works of my students on social media . I also do radio advertisement and also use my website.

With credibility, I believe good works speaks for it's self. When I begun, I struggled a bit with credibility because people found it difficult to trust me to teach them well despite the fact that I had few people who believed my excellence. I didn't get much students at the beginning. After training them ,people saw what I could do and saw how good I was , making the numbers grow in the subsequent years. Gradually, it helped build up my credibility.

I had my Senior High School education at Kpando Senior High school were I started Home Economics, specialising in food and nutrition. I proceeded to the University of Education, Wnneba where I also studied Bsc.Home Economics, specialising in clothen and textiles. I believe my tertiary education has played a major role in my career. In that, I did education making me understand the whole concept and philosophy of education, impacting knowledge into a person and establishing an educational institute.

My advice to young people is :remember it's very difficult out there. You might not get someone to give you all the money to start something. You don't have to have all the money to materialise your idea. Live each day at a time . And money should not allow you to abandon your dreams. Do something with the little you have.

I'll be officially launching my brand in November . I made all the beautiful clothes you see in my room. I didn't wait to get a huge amount of money to start making them. Don't give up, with time everything will become blissful.

My career is my passion. I'm very passionate about whatever I do. My parents wanted me to do something else but was very geared towards the arts. I believe my intrusive value played a big role in who I am today . It was more about being focused and determined and reaching for the stars.

My greatest inspiration is inspiring myself.                                             #YCEO
